How to Keep Cool

Run a bath; blue tap full on
When at high tide,
Immerse big toe
Three times and inspect
If blue, jump in

Slide under, slowly
Eyes open
Watch the bubbles
Oh! I forgot…of course, blow bubbles,
Become a child again

Slide around
Cause a tidal wave
Replace the displaced ocean
Turn the blue tap
With either big toe

If a snorkel is within reach
Do not emerge
Until your skin, wrinkled,
And, like blotting paper,
Has absorbed the bath
